HIBT is proud to be an Associate College of the University of Hertfordshire, both work in close partnership to ensure that students receive the most advanced learning and teaching facilities and experience.  HIBT and the University of Hertfordshire together provide a single educational continuum, from entry point to degree graduation.  This provision is underpinned by a major articulation agreement.

The partnership offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate Pathways leading to a degree award from the University of Hertfordshire.  Pathways can incorporate both Academic and English Language Studies and can be tailored to the specific needs of each applicant.

1) Study on a University Campus

HIBT students have the same access to the University of Hertfordshire study and social facilities as any other University student.

2) Commence your studies in February, June or September

We offer three intakes per year for many of our Pathways, and offer English Language at each of these intakes where required. This allows us to tailor make Pathways according to individual students' academic background and their level of English Language competency.

3) Small group teaching and individual attention from dedicated university lecturers

Many international students find the transition to university studies quite difficult to deal with, particularly as international students studying at university level in the UK are normally expected to go straight into lectures with the local students.  Many international students find this very overwhelming to begin with.

At HIBT all of our students come from international backgrounds and we ensure that all of our class sizes are small, so that our students get the opportunity to build up confidence with the study methods and to ensure that they all receive as much attention as possible when settling into the University of Hertfordshire.

Many international students worry that they may not be able to understand their lecturers when they first start at University.  They also sometimes worry that the lecturer might not understand them.  All students at HIBT are international students.  We therefore select teachers who have experience in dealing with international students and who are culturally sensitive.
